“Fantastic customer service. We are still away at the moment so may be a bit premature but we have a 12 year old with special needs. He is autistic with a genetic mutation. Due to fire rules, the front door double bolts but the handle can always just open the door from the inside. We are also on the ground floor and so the balcony has a gate on to the gardens. Again this doesn't lock. Our son can be out of either the back or the front in seconds and as he has no hazard awareness, could end up anywhere, or in the pool. Whilst during the day, we can be with him all of the time and stop him, although it often leads to meltdowns. He is also none verbal so communication during these meltdowns can be almost impossible....we do worry though about night time, or more specifically early morning when he wakes up. We can use the sliding grills on the back so that is fine, but he can simply open the front door and be away and we wouldn't know. Whilst I appreciate that this is for fire regulations, I find it more dangerous for his health and safety being able to open the door . Anyway, apologies for the lengthy intro but it was to set the scene... The reception at delta mar were fully understanding of our concerns and within 1 hour, had a maintenance guy come round and fitted a chain and padlock to the back gate. Simple but solved the problem there. They also applied a temporary solution to the front door. Again, very simple but it allowed us to prevent my son from opening the door and therefore served its purpose. 2 simple things that can simply be removed once we leave, and took him about 10 minutes to do. Simple, cheap and effective so to me they get full stars and respect from us. It means we can now sleep in the knowledge that our son can't escape.”
